FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about our classes. Don't see your question? Email info@twinstatesafety.com.

Before class

Do I need any medical background?

No. Heartsaver courses are made for everyday people with little or no medical training. If you can kneel and push hard, you can learn this.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can kneel and move in. You'll practice compressions on manikins on the floor, so skip anything tight or dressy.

What if I have a bad knee, back or other physical limit?

Let me know when you arrive. We can use a table or chair for practice so you can still learn the skills. Your health comes first.

How do I sign up?

Go to Register for a Class. If your employer set up a class, choose "Through my employer," then pick your employer, location and class time. You'll get an email with a link to confirm your address.

I didn't get the confirmation email. What now?

Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it isn't there, your email may have had a typo. Email info@twinstatesafety.com and I'll fix it and resend the link.

Can I change my class time?

Yes. Reply to your confirmation email, or email info@twinstatesafety.com, and I'll move you to another time if there's a seat.

Your card

Is this an American Heart Association course?

Yes. I'm an AHA Heartsaver® instructor teaching through North Country Health, an AHA Training Center. Your card comes from the American Heart Association.

When do I get my card?

Your AHA eCard is emailed to the address you confirmed when you signed up, often within 24 hours of class and always within a week. That's why we ask you to confirm it. Watch for an email from the American Heart Association, check your spam folder, and follow its steps to claim your card.

How long is my card good for?

2 years. Your expiration date is printed on your eCard. Plan to renew before it runs out.

What's the difference between "First time" and "Renewal"?

Choose First time if you've never taken the course or your card expired long ago. Choose Renewal if your card is expiring soon or recently expired. It helps me plan the class.

Will this meet my job's requirement?

Heartsaver courses are built for people who need a CPR, AED or First Aid card for work. Requirements vary by employer and job, so check with your employer to be sure which course they need. Healthcare workers usually need BLS, which I don't offer right now.

Workplaces and groups

Can you come to our workplace?

Yes. I bring the manikins, AED trainers and supplies to your site and schedule around your shifts. Your employees sign up online, and you get a roster for your training records.

How many people can be in a class?

Small classes work best so everyone gets real hands-on practice. Email me with your group size and I'll set up the right number of sessions.

Do you serve both Vermont and New Hampshire?

Yes. That's where the name Twin State comes from. I also travel to nearby areas for workplace classes. Just ask.
